In 1948 Executive members of the Boys Brigade realised that there was no outlet for boys over seventeen to play football. Resulting from this the UCFL was set up. The league at this time comprised of eight teams of which St Marys was a founder member.Over the years ST Marys have won every major honour in the league with an outstanding record in the seventies and eighties. The only trophy we have not won is the Richard Knight which is ironic as it was donated by a past Executive of the club. Two of our members served on the Executive Committee for a number of years in the eighties in regards to Finance and Fixtures. From the seventies to the late eighties we had a large number of players who represented the League team with distintcion, two players captained the teams over this period and one player was the league teams top goal scorer.
